On May 25, 1980, Sue was united in marriage with the love of her life, Kenneth James Beecher. Passionate for teaching children, Sue “Mrs. Beecher” was the kindergarten teacher at Giese School for over 30 years, retiring in 2001.

Among her interests, Sue enjoyed gardening, reading, arts and crafts – including making jewelry, and socializing with friends.  Above all, she loved and cherished being in surroundings of her entire family.

Surviving are her husband of 32 years, Kenneth J. Beecher; their daughters, Molly and Laura Beecher; sister, Madeleine Martinez; brother-in-law, Dan (Beverly) Beecher; sisters-in-law, Julie (Rick) Nichi and Sandra (Cliff) Oberg; nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and many former students. In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by Ken’s parents, James and Ann Beecher.

In accordance with Sue’s wishes, cremation will take place. A memorial service of remembrance  will be held in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Friday, September 28, 2012 at 6:00 pm. A reception will follow. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Friday from 4-6 pm. In memory of Sue, offer a kind deed to someone in need.

A special note of thanks to the nurses and entire staff at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints – ICU for the compassionate care and support given in our time of need.

Wish I could write something to make it all better. Susie was so wonderful to my grandchildren. They treasured the cards she sent, the gifts she sent and the great joy she brought to their house when she and her family came to visit! And, I know they also have so many memories of Thanksgiving celebrations with all of you when we were not able to be there! We were honored to have known her!

Sorry for your loss, as she was a wonderful neighbor while she lived in New Glarus, as her folks lived across the street from us and she and her sister where very close freinds with our two daughters

I was so sorry to hear of Sue’s passing. She was a high school classmate and I have so many wonderful memories of her. I am so glad that I was able to catch up with her this last year during the lunches Shirley Kiesling set up for.

Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.
