Racine – Doris (nee: Amburt) Martin, age 93, passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at Kindred of Kenosha – North.
Doris was born in Racine on August 3, 1920 to the late John and Irene Amburt. She was employed as a bookkeeper for most of her working career. Doris was a member of Atonement Lutheran Church. Passionate for animals – she loved her rescue dogs and visiting the wolf sanctuary. Doris was also an avid reader. Surviving are her son, Alan Andersen; granddaughter, Stephanie Andersen; and loving companion of nearly 12 years, Fred Klaar.
Funeral services will be held in the chapel of West Lawn Memorial Park, 9000 Washington Avenue, on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at 10:00 am with Rev. Dr. Warren D. Williams officiating. Entombment in the mausoleum of West Lawn will follow. Visitation will be in West Lawn chapel on Tuesday from 9:30 – 10:00 am.
