MOUNT PLEASANT – Kevin Mooney, age 60, of Mount Pleasant, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on January 10, 2017.  Kevin was born in Milwaukee to Clifford and Joyce (nee: Leon) Mooney and raised in Cedarburg, Wisconsin.

Kevin was a Human Resources professional for S.C. Johnson Wax and Johnson Outdoors for nearly thirty years.  He enjoyed his job immensely and it provided him with constant opportunity for international travel.

An avid golfer, Kevin traveled with friends to play in Ireland and, aside from spending time with family, was happiest on the golf course.  He was also a talented gardener and took great pride in his meticulous landscaping.  In his later years, Kevin also enjoyed helping his adult children with all their home improvement needs, as well as frequently visiting his mother in Cedarburg.

In addition to his children, Kate Mooney and Christopher Mooney, Kevin is survived by his mother, Joyce Mooney,  two brothers, Scott Mooney and Stuart (Kacy) Mooney, as well as his nephews and nieces, Alexander Kusters, Andrew Kusters (Joe Matheys), Colleen Mooney, Griffin Mooney and Garrett Mooney, his aunt Lynne (Scott) Jones and his cousins Kristen Leon and Bill Jones.  Kevin is further survived by his former wife and mother of his children, Cheryl Mooney and his sister-in-law, Karen Kusters.  He was preceded in death by his father, Clifford.

Family and friends are invited to meet in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 for a visitation from 4-6 p.m.  A service celebrating and honoring is life will follow at 6:00 p.m.   In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society are suggested.

So sorry to hear this news. I worked with Kevin at SCJ. His passion and genuine concern for people resonated clearly in all he did. It was my sincere pleasure to have known him. May God bless and welcome him with his loving, open arms and may God grant his family peace as they honor his life and passing.

Testimonials

October 22, 2015

Mike and the staff went above and beyond during our very difficult time with passing of our Opa. Mike helped relieve the immense stress by being extremely professional, paying attention to the smallest details and the overall kindness and compassion in caring for our family at our time of need. We do not believe that a thank you truly covers our deep gratitude towards you. Thank you for everything you have done for us.
