Interment will follow in the chapel at West Lawn Memorial Park, 9000 Washington Ave, Racine, WI.

Carol Ann Amundson went to be with her Lord Jesus on the morning of Friday, November 9th as the snow fell gently outside her hospital window.  She braved a long illness and passed away peacefully with her family at her side.  As her birthday neared, balloons, flowers, cards, kisses, hugs, and the power of God’s love, were celebrated to honor her. November 10th would have been Carol’s 77th birthday.

Carol was born in Kenosha and was the youngest of nine children. Her parents, Mary and David Altergott, Sr., were Russian immigrants of German descent.

Carol met Larry, the love of her life, in the 1950’s as he “scooped the loop” in downtown Kenosha. They married on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 1959, at St. Luke’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. Their 60th wedding anniversary was to be celebrated three months from now.

Raising four children, spending time with her eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren, brought Carol great joy.  She had a knack for picking out the perfect gift for each birthday and Christmas. Beautifully painted ceramics, rosemaling, interior decorating, fashion, and Sudoku were her hobbies.

Carol is survived by her husband Larry, daughters April (Richard) Lindquist, Kathy Amundson Spaulding, Christine Iovine, and son, Scott (Pamela) Amundson; as well as eight grandchildren, Andrea (Tony) Kline, Garrett (Brianna) Lindquist, Austin Spaulding, Noah, Rylee, and Brynn Amundson, Frankie and Johnnie Iovine; six great grandchildren, Isaac, Fayith, Finley Sage, Asher, Leala and Bennett.  She is further survived by her brothers Ronald Altergott, Kenosha, and Arthur (Pat) Altergott, Las Vegas, along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She held close to her heart Frank Iovine, Vern Spaulding, and Dave Marifern.

She was proceeded in death by her parents; brothers, David, Richard, Johnny; sisters, Betsy Davis, Marie Beyer, and Shirley True.
