James E. Wellman, age 82 of Somers, passed away unexpectedly at home with his loving wife by his side on Friday, October 29, 2021.

Jim was born in Kenosha on May 23, 1939 to the late Robert A. and Mildred C. (nee Morris) Wellman.  He graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School and then went on to receive his associate degree from Gateway Technical College as an automotive technician.  On October 17, 1981 Jim married Linda Danner at St. George Catholic Church in Kenosha.  They were blessed to share 40 years of marriage together.

Jim was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, where he had served many years as an usher.  Jim had several jobs throughout his working career, all of which were automotive related.  Upon retiring in 2009, he was employed as a Repair Industry Liaison with Envirotest Illinois, Inc.  As an automobile enthusiast, back in the 1990’s, he was proud to be part of a team that built a racing engine that set a world record in the Modified Short Track class.  Jim was an avid fan of NASCAR, the Packers, and the Cubs.  In his spare time, Jim enjoyed working with wood.

Survivors include his loving wife of 40 years, Linda, and a brother Lee A. Wellman.
