Service Details

Family and friends are invited to meet at the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory on Saturday, December 18, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. for the celebration of his life and Homegoing service.   

 

There will be a visitation before the service from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.

Racine- Lonnie (Baldy) Grandberry, 61, was called home by his Lord & Savior on Sunday December 5, 2021 at Ascension All Saints.

Lonnie Grandberry was born in Lula, Mississippi to the late Nathaniel Brown Jr. & Jessie Mae Grandberry – Martin on September 13,1960.

Lonnie relocated to Racine, WI at early age in 1963. He attended Winslow Elementary & Park High School. Lonnie was the comedian of the family and loved making people laugh. He had loving heart & would help anyone if you’d ask him. He loved his kids & grandkids. He loved traveling, Bar-B-Q fishing, playing cards, and spending time with his family. He had worked at St. Luke’s Hospital as a janitor and was self-employed as a handyman. He could fix anything in the house. He also worked for Dr. Aboyge as a handyman.

Lonnie leaves cherish his legacy his mother, Jessie Mae Grandberry-Martin; one son and two daughters, Lonnie Grandberry Jr, Tiara Grandberry, Jessica Grandberry, 21 grandkids & 3 great-grandkids; his twin sister, Linda Grandberry Williams, Nathaniel Grandberry, Patricia (Roosevelt) Henderson, Alcindor (Zena) Grandberry, Tiffany Grandberry all from Racine, WI LaRose Boyd, Gene (Saundra) Tabor, Linda (Jerry) White, Deloris (Tony) Dixon, & Renee(Connell) Crossland all from St.Louis, MO; step brothers & sisters, Yvonne (Ernie) Daniels from Detroit, MI, Anne, Toni, Arnette, Darvin, Sheila, John Martin all from Racine, WI; numerous aunties & uncles, nieces & nephews, cousins & friends. Lonnie was preceded in death by the love of his life, Leda Robinson; father, Nathaniel Brown Jr; step-dad, Carvin Martin; 2 step-brothers Calvin & Jermaine; one step sister, Michelle Martin; one brother in law, Gerald Boyd; grandparents, James (Johnella) Grandberry, Nathaniel (Marie) Brown Sr; four aunties & four uncles; one niece, Sharica Hugies.

    Lonnie was a beautiful and gentle soul. Lonnie LOVE LOVE LOVED him some LeeLee. He would always say that he really miss LeeLee and would keep her picture on his nightstand so he could talk to her. Now they are back together. What a joyful day that was when LeeLee escorted him into Heaven to be with her. Our Condolences go out to the entire family. Lonnie will be forever cherished in our hearts. Love the Sims and Westmoreland Families.

    Carolyn and I are deeply sorry for your loss. We have seen the Grandberry truck many times working around Arthur and Margaret’s house and have enjoyed talking to Lonnie Jr. We don’t get the Journal Times all the time so I’m glad we could watch the Service on line.
