Ruben J. "Cheese" Ramos Jr.

Oct 29, 1981 – Jul 3, 2023

Service Details

A celebration of Ruben’s life will be held on Sunday July, 23, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ruben John “Cheese” Ramos Jr, 41 of Racine, passed away unexpectedly on Monday July 3rd, 2023 in Apatzingan, Michoacan, Mexico. On this day many lost a friend, a compadre, an associate, barber, a brother, cousin, nephew, an uncle, padrino, a Father…above all a true legend! Ruben was born on October 29th, 1981, in Racine, WI; son of Ruben Ramos Sr and Shelley Ramos. Ruben leaves behind a legacy of respect, honor, generosity, compassion, and protector for all who crossed his path. His relentless energy, contagious spirit and “smile of gold” touched everyone he encountered. To have known Ruben is to have been a victim of his stomach-aching roasting and hilarious wit. Not a single person was ever left out. He made sure to crack a joke even at the most serious of times. His relentless work ethic was unmatched. His excellence in customer service and determination to stay ahead of the game pushed him to always strive for higher limits. Ruben was a man of business. A man of his word and a man of respect. After developing a passion and skill for his many crafts: in 2012 Ruben opened up Studio 262 Barbershop in Racine, WI; working alongside his friends, while making new ones along the way. A few years later, in 2016, he created his brand, FadeMob; designing a clothing line and creating personalized accessories for stylists and barbers around the country. This entrepreneurship created greater opportunities, ultimately becoming a personal barber for a few players of the Marquette University Basketball team. In 2022, Ruben opened up his clothing store, A La Moda in Michoacan Mexico. His store was his newest pride and joy. His late father, Ruben Sr-was even more proud of him watching him build the store from nothing and establishing one of the trendiest of stores in town. His hard work and perseverance will not go forgotten.  Ruben will be deeply missed by his sisters Sonia Ramos and Rubicelia Ramos (Anselmo Mendez); children Elissa, Ruben III, Janessa, Reyna, and Analisa; nieces Jovana, Marisol, Ruby, Yesenia and Lisette; nephews Adrian, Miguel and Felix; grandchildren Ameri and Arielle; great nieces and nephews, many godchildren, compadres, cousins, relatives and friends. Ruben is preceded in death by his parents, Ruben Sr and Shelley Ramos, and niece, AnaMaria

Ruben…wow he was one of the real ones. His energy was surreal…it was probably too much for most. The one time we hung out was perhaps one of the best days of my life. RUBEN RIP….
