Shirley Ann Wilson, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2024. Born on November 9, 1934, to the late Alexander and Emma (nee Ruppel) Schuppe, Shirley touched the lives of many with her humor, kindness, and dedication to her family.

Shirley married the love of her life, Bruce Wilson, on May 3, 1958, and together they built a beautiful family. Shirley cherished every moment spent with her husband and children, instilling in them values of care and compassion. Bruce preceded her in death on May 11, 2011.

Shirley found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Whether it was playing cards, solving puzzles, or immersing herself in a good book, she embraced every moment to the fullest. She loved watching shark movies with Kris, and her Fun Fridays with her best gals, Pam and Emma, were a highlight of her week.

Shirley’s love extended beyond her immediate family. For five decades, she watched over the neighborhood children, earning the title of the “neighborhood mom” for her genuine care and attention towards all those around her.

Shirley will be lovingly remembered by her children, Sherry, Wendy, Kris; grandchildren, Brad, Joey, Kenny (Anna), Pam (Ezra), Thea (Kyle), Jessi (David), Phillip, Emma (Ryan); great-grandchildren, Amber, Lil’ Brad, Casey, Amanda, Mariah, Angela, Bridget (Javis), Hailey, Callie, Myley, Brianne, Micah, Riley, Corbin, Parker, Shelby, James; great-great-grandchildren, Kolton, Kayson, Sophia, Freya; sisters, Susan (Ken), Linda, Mary; special friends, Marianne, and Jimmy, all of whom she cherished deeply. She leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will continue to inspire those who knew her.

A memorial service to celebrate Shirley’s life will be held at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory, 4600 County Line Road, on Friday, August 2, 2024, at 11:00 am. Prior to the service, a public visitation will be held at the same location at 9:00 am. Interment will occur on a later date at West Lawn Memorial Park.

As we gather to bid farewell to Shirley, let us remember her with joy and gratitude for the love she shared and the lives she touched. May her legacy of kindness and compassion live on in our hearts forever.
