Alfred Bucky Hudec

vet
Oct 31, 1925 – Jun 23, 2010

RACINE – Bucky Hudec, 84, died unexpectedly at WFH- All Saints on Wednesday, June 23, 2010.

He was born in Racine on October 31, 1925 to the late Anton and Marie (nee: Bartasik) Hudec.  On June 27, 1953 he married the former Lydia K. Trentadue.  She preceded him in death on August 18, 1988.

Bucky served his country with the U.S. Army during WWII.  He was a member of the Panther Squadron in the European Theater.

He was a longtime member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church.  After the church consolidated, he joined St. Sebastian Church in Sturtevant.

Bucky was often seen around town sporting his Wisconsin Badger wear.  He literally displayed his passion for the Badgers on his sleeve.  He had not missed a Wisconsin home game since 1953 and attended every Rose Bowl the Badgers played.  He also enjoyed good polka music, gardening and socializing with his friends on Lathrop Ave.

He is survived buy his son and daughter-in-law, Alfred and Joanne Hudec, Jr.; grandchildren, Cory, Sara and Brian Hudec; great grandchildren, Simon Freeman and Caden Hudec all of Racine; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  He was also preceded in death by his brothers and sister, Anthony, Paul, Albert Hudec and Ann Laudonio.

Family and friends are invited to meet at St. Sebastian Catholic Church (3126 95th St. Sturtevant) on Monday, June 28, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. for the celebration of his life and funeral mass with Rev. Paul Raczynski officiating.  His entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery Mausoleum with military honors.  There will be a visitation in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Sunday evening from 3-5 p.m. and in the church on Monday from 9:30-10:30 am.

Testimonials

Jessie Tuttle

Dear Bob,
I just wanted to thank you again for all your help and everything you did for my grandfather’s funeral. Looking back on it, I think Gramps would have been so proud of how everything turned out and it would not have been possible without your help. Your staff is amazing and has allowed us the grieve without worrying about the little details of everything that goes into making the arrangements and planning the services. You helped us honor one of the most amazing men in my life, and it meant so much to me personally and to my family. Thank you for everything.
Take care,
Jessie Tuttle
