Alma Allen, I am saddened to suddenly see Alma’s name here, as It’s been nearly 60 years that I last saw her. Such a BEAUTIFUL Lady, and WONDERFUL personality. I worked at St. Luke’s Hospital In the 60s, and knew Alma well. I also knew Son’s James, and Clarence from High School. Alma was such a kind and gentle Woman. My Mother was Karl York’s Exec. Secretary, and together, I believe they were the BEST dressed Women In all of St. Luke’s. I’m almost at a loss for words, as I cannot believe she was 96 years old. That may be a current photo of her here? She was beautiful as I said. To Clarence, and her remaining family, I offer my sincere condolences for your loss. Even at 96 years old, she will certainly be missed.

My deepest condolences to the entire family. Ms. Alma Allen was a wonderful person and longtime friend. As a teenager I remember attending a tour of the St. Luke’s Hospital Laboratory and how well she ran that Lab. It was Ms. Alma Allen that inspired me to pursue a career in the Medical profession. Many years later I attended UW-Madison and received my Bachelors of Science in Medical Microbiology all because of her. I will miss her warmth, smile and impeccable fashion sense. Rest well my friend and God Bless you.

Clarence, I want to give you my sincere condolences for the passing of your wonderful sister Alma. As you may have known, my wife Mary (Chiki), worked in the laboratory with Alma for many years. Chiki thought highly of Alma and often would tell me how much she enjoyed working together, and of all the many organizations Alma was involved with. Seeing you Clarence at the nursing home both my Dad and Alma were at, was great talking with you many times. We go way back graduating from Park High School together and those good old days! Now Alma is at eternal peace with our Savior and reunited once again with her son and family and close friends. God bless you Clarence for taking care of Alma especially your constant visits with her at the nursing facility for so very long. Alma, rest in your deserved peace! Chuck & Chiki Daceno Jr.

My sincere condolences to the Allen Family. I
I worked at St Luke’s for many years, in the Nuclear Medicine Department, which was located next door to the Outpatient Lab.
Daily, I would wander next door to greet Alma and her partners in crime, Clara Prince and Eddie Mae Kimmons. Laughter was the common denominator, as those three enjoyed life and plenty of laughter.
Alma knew every patient that came through the door. Her customer service skills were exemplary.
It’s heartwarming to know that Alma has joined Clara and Eddie Mae. I’m certain the laughter continues.

I meet Ms. Alma as a teenager when I become a part of the sickle cell foundation of 50 or so years ago. She was always a classy, dignified lady, a pleasure to be around. Throughout the many years of knowing her, you knew without a doubt she loved her God, her family, and her Church she served all three with integrity, her walk matched her talk. When God called her to eternal reward she was already prepared. She transitioned from labor to reward! Jerrel and the rest of Sister Alma’s family, I uplift you to God. God will give the peace and strength you need, and you will always have her love and beautiful legacy.
