Antonia J. LaFave

Feb 4, 1926 – Mar 2, 2015

~~Antonia Jenny LaFave, 89, completed her earthly journey at Azura Memory Care, Eau Claire, on March 2, 2015.  Antonia was born on February 4, 1926, in Racine, WI, the daughter of the late Anton and Frances Zore.
On August 16, 1946, in Racine, WI, she was united in marriage to Richard E. LaFave.  She was an active member of Pentecost Lutheran Church in Racine.  She was in Ruth Circle, Bible Study, and a co-founder of the 55 Plus Senior Club.  She was also a secretary at J. I. Case High School (Gold School) from 1966 until her retirement in 1988.  Antonia and Richard made their home in Racine until 2004 when they moved to Eau Claire, WI to be near family.  Antonia and Richard became members of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Eau Claire.  She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.   She will be remembered for her smile, love of church, family, baking, and dancing a good polka.
Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Richard; sons: Ervin (Linda), David (Anne) and Stephen (Darlene).  Grandchildren: Richard (Allyson) LaFave, Kristin (Chad) Thompson, Aimee (Michael) Fournier, Chad LaFave, Cassandra (Josh) Buckberg, Julie LaFave, Jessica (Daniel) Pickett, and Michael LaFave.  Great-Grandchildren:  Abigail and Clare LaFave, Anya and Anniston Fournier and Ryker Thompson.  Step Great-Grandchildren: Gabrielle and Isabelle Thompson.
Antonia was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Joseph Susnik, Frank Susnik, Anne Skraboly and Frances Jezernik, and her sister-in-law and best friend, Marcella Susnik.
Her funeral service will be held at Pentecost Lutheran Church located at 2213 Coolidge Ave, Racine, WI at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Luke Jacob officiating.  Visitation will be at the church on Saturday, March 7, beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.   Burial will follow at West Lawn Cemetery.   A light lunch will be served back at the church after the internment.
A special thank you to her Azura “family” for their exceptional love and care given to Antonia.   In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to Pentecost Church and/or the Alzheimer’s Association in Antonia’s memory.
