Elexus Sade Nichols

Oct 18, 1991 – Jul 16, 2024

Service Details

A Celebration of Life will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, July 27th, at 4:00 P.M. with Pastor Willie Scott officiating.

Visitation will be prior to the service from 3:00 P.M. until the time of the service.

Elexus S. Nichols, 32, passed away at the Aurora Medical Complex-Mt. Pleasant on Tuesday, July 16, 2024. On October 18, 1991, in Evergreen Park, IL, she was born to Eric Nichols and Tracey Merrill. Elexus accepted Christ at an early age, when she was baptized at Gospel Truth Missionary Baptist Church, in Chicago. In 2005, she and her family moved to Sturtevant, WI. They later joined Christian Faith Fellowship Church under the leadership of Pastors Willie and Patricia Scott. Elexus attended JI. Case High School and was a 2009 graduate. She attended multiple colleges in pursuit of her nursing degree. She was enthusiastic in regards to whatever job she had, whether it was Six Flags, Cold Stone Creamery, being a CNA at Ridgewood Care Center, or the Post Office her last employer, until her disability forced her retirement. This is where she met most of her friends outside of school. Customers loved her Charisma and would always bring her coffee. She was such a smart, strong, sweet, selfless, and fun person. Elexus was Enthusiastic, Loving, Educated, X-traordinary, Unforgettable, and Supportive, all qualities she embodied. She lived a fulfilling life, and never let what she was enduring deter her from enjoying all of God’s beautiful wonders. She truly enjoyed being her child’s number one fan in all that he did. In her spare time you would catch her cooking (she loved her some Gordan Ramsey), watching law and order, playing cards, coloring, reading and hanging out with her loved ones. Elexus loved learning and doing research. She had an inquiring mind from a young age, aspiring to be an inventor. Elexus was a rare gem, one of a kind, always putting others before herself. She was so humble, and never judged anyone. Anyone who knew Elexus gravitated towards her nurturing spirit. Her nurturing spirit led her to pursue her nursing career. She was a forgiving and accountable person. She had her own bonds with many people from all different walks of life and wouldn’t let anything tarnish them, because to her love conquered all. Elexus lives on through her son, Elijah Reyes, his father, William Reyes; parents, Tracey Merrill, and Eric (Nolentha) Nichols, sister, Ebriere Nichols; step-sister, Rusheaira Dorns; step-brother, Shulawn Dorns; grandfather, Terry (Annette) Lee, niece, Emerie Nichols; nephew, Cairi Dorns; Goddaughter, Khya Westmoreland; Godson, Tay, and his two little brothers; aunties, Diane Jester, and Andrea (Garivn) Whitehead Lea Gonzales; cousins, Tasharra Jester, Brittney Brown, Loraine Brown, Juanito Gonales, Raven Brown, Dangelo Brown, Deon Wilson, Mysharra Porter, Myshawn Jester, Saahir Hyche and many others; dear friends, Finesse Marshall, Tykesha Dawson, Crystal Malone, Shearon Spears, as well as plenty of others. Elexus was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Irene Brown and Rosa Lee, and her uncle, Terry Lee, Jr.

    To our beloved Tracey and Family;

    Allow your hearts to grieve and your tears to flow.

    Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding, In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy path. Proverbs 3:5-6

    We are upholding you and the family in prayer during this difficult time, when answers seems to not make sense and understanding is difficult. Know that God is with you and he will provide you with direction and peace.

Testimonials

October 22, 2015

My family and I would like to thank you and your staff for making our father\’s funeral a beautiful celebration of his life. So many people commented that it was the best funeral they had ever attended! We can\’t say enough about Mark Langendorf\’s professionalism, his attention to detail, and ensuring that my father\’s funeral went smoothly from start to finish. After the funeral, he was always available for any questions and concerns my mother had. He handled all post-funeral details. Our dad would be very happy to know it went so well.Thank you so much, Mark.
