Family and friends are invited to meet in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, for a visitation from 10:00 am until 11:00 am.
A service celebrating and honoring his life will take place at 11:00 am.
His interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park.

STURTEVANT – Gerry A. Hoornstra, Sr., 82, passed away at Aurora Medical Center in Mount Pleasant on Thursday, June 26, 2025.
He was born in Sault Ste. Marie, MI on January 27, 1943, the son of the late Floyd and Mildred (nee Barker) Hoornstra.
Gerry married Joanne (nee Neubauer) Geyer on October 22, 1971.
He served as a Racine Police officer for almost 30 years, retiring in 1994. Gerry also enjoyed buying and selling properties around Racine before and after his retirement.
In addition to his wife Joanne, he is survived by his children, Scott (Norine Young) Geyer, Michelle Houdek, and Gerry Hoornstra, Jr.; his grandchildren, Taylor (Jared Lopez) Geyer, Jason (Amanda) Houdek, Caleb Joyce, Amanda (Michael) Adcock, Skylar Hoornstra, Avery Hoornstra, Corbyn Hoornstra, and Brody (Stephanie) Lawler; his great grandchildren, Gigi Lopez, Christian Reisenauer, Carter Houdek, Casen Adcock, and Damian Lawler; his sister, Nancy Larke; his sisters-in-law, Marlene Hoornstra, Karen (Lance) Nissen, and Brenda (Al) Nygro; as well as numerous, nieces and nephews; and his feline companion, Cali.
Gerry was also preceded in death by his great grandson, Lucas Houdek; his brother, Dean Hoornstra; and his brother-in-law, Tom (Janet) Neubauer.
