Born on May 24th, 1933 in Racine, WI, Ray attended area schools and graduated from Park High School. He served in the United States Army, but most of his career he was a dedicated firefighter with the Racine Fire Department, where he was active in the union and retired with the rank of Captain.

He lived for a brief time in California before coming back to the city of his birth.

A quiet, caring, passionate, generous, and strong man, Ray loved his family, the Green Bay Packers, the Wisconsin Badgers, strategy video games (especially Warsong), and going to casinos – most of all in Las Vegas.

He is survived by sons Steven, Richard, Gary, and Timothy; daughter Ginger; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many other relatives.

I worked with Ray on the fire dept. and as a union board member. He and I fought the fires at the diamond head apartment complex Brannum lumber & others together. Ray was a good friend and great fire-fighter as well as a very influential union executive board member and all around great guy. My sincere condolences to his family members for the loss of their loved one.

Testimonials

October 22, 2015

Dear Bob,
I just wanted to thank you again for all your help and everything you did for my grandfather’s funeral. Looking back on it, I think Gramps would have been so proud of how everything turned out and it would not have been possible without your help. Your staff is amazing and has allowed us the grieve without worrying about the little details of everything that goes into making the arrangements and planning the services. You helped us honor one of the most amazing men in my life, and it meant so much to me personally and to my family. Thank you for everything.
Take care,
Jessie Tuttle
