It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Arthur L. Bohm, who departed this life peacefully, with his wife by his side, on Monday, May 25th, 2026, at the age of 90, in his home.
Arthur was born on Saturday, May 23rd, 1936, to the late Lloyd William Bohm and Pearl Mary Bohm. Art moved to Racine in 1941 and attended Washington Park High School, graduating in 1954, and briefly pursued higher education at U.W. Whitewater.
Arthur’s life was marked by dedication and service, proudly serving in the U.S. Navy from 1955 to 1959 aboard the U.S.S. Chevalier DDR-805, achieving the rank of SK-2 Class. His service to his country was a testament to his character and commitment.
His professional life was spent in the grocery industry, where he made significant contributions over decades. Arthur worked with various department grocery stores, dedicating 25 years to A&P Grocery and 19 years to SuperValu. He also held positions at Mitchell International Airport and the Washington Park Golf Course as a manager, and worked as a delivery driver for Signature Flowers by Randy.
Art had a zest for life and curiosity that took him to over 35 countries alongside his devoted wife, Diana. Their travels were filled with cherished memories, especially river cruises in Europe and an unforgettable journey on the Orient Express. A private pilot aircraft enthusiast and a high school track athlete, Arthur’s love for adventure was boundless.
His passion for culture was evident in his love for the Milwaukee Symphony and the Racine Theatre. From 1948 to 1953, he played in the Racine Kilities, fostering friendships and spreading joy wherever he went. Arthur’s openness to new experiences and his affable nature garnered him a circle of friends spread across the globe.
Arthur is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Diana, who was his companion in both life and travel. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and countless memories.
Art’s warm spirit and generous heart will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his legacy of love and adventure will live on.
