Audrey D. Keehn

Service Details

Her Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Lucy Catholic Church, 3101 Drexel Ave.,  on Wednesday, May 1st at 10:30 a.m. Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass.

Audrey D. Keehn, 88, passed away at the Primrose Retirement Community in Mount Pleasant, WI, on Sunday, March 31, 2024. She was born in Eau Claire, WI on June 5, 1935, the daughter of the late Arthur and Dorothy (nee: Misura) DeWitz. She was a 1953 graduate of Regis High School, in Eau Claire.

 

When she was 21, she made the big move to Chicago where she got a job with the federal government.  It was there, where she met the love of her life, Richard “Dick” Keehn. They were married in Chicago on November 12, 1960. They moved to Madison, WI in 1965 so Dick could complete his PhD.  They settled in Racine, WI in 1969 when Dick got a job teaching at the University of Wisconsin – Parkside.  Together they raised four children.  One of their proudest achievements was seeing all four kids graduate from the University of Wisconsin – Madison.  In addition to taking care of four kids, she worked over 20 years at the University of Wisconsin – Parkside as an administrative assistant in the Union, retiring in 1999 .  Audrey, and her beloved husband enjoyed their times biking, wintering in La Quinta, CA, and trips to Door County. Mrs. Keehn was a member of St. Lucy Catholic Church.

 

Surviving are her loving husband, Dick; their four children, Stephen (Holly) Keehn, of El Dorado Hills, CA, Peter (Laura) Keehn, of Bethesda, MD, James (Kelly) Keehn, of Huntington Beach, CA, and Kathryn Keehn, of Chicago, IL; five grandchildren, Matthew (Carter) Keehn, of Long Beach, CA, Sean Keehn, of El Dorado Hills, CA, Ned (Emma) Daryoush, of Potomac, MD, Josh (Connie) Daryoush, of Salt Lake City, UT, and Andrew Keehn, of Huntington Beach, CA; three great grandchildren, Ebi, Noor, and Charlotte; brother, John (Gloria) DeWitz, of Guam; three sisters, Judy (Albert) Guite, of Eau Claire, WI, Victoria (Jim) Messing, of Prescott Valley, AZ, and Christine (Don) Prause, of Menomonee Falls, WI. Her nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends also survive her.

    I worked for Dr Short for many years and I remember Audrey with such fondness. She and I always had great conversations. She truly was a wonderful woman who I’m sure will be greatly missed. Thinking of Richard and her family.
