Racine – Edward Robert Funk, 87, received the promise of eternal life on Friday, September 5, 2014. He was born in Racine on November 23, 1926, son of the late Robert and Ida (nee: Green) Funk.
Edward was united in marriage to the love of his life, Elizabeth Ann Barth, on May 28, 1949, at St. Louis Church in Caledonia. Elizabeth preceded him in death on April 7, 1990.
Edward worked at Modine Manufacturing until his retirement and belonged to the 20 year club. He also was a part-time farmer and had a roadside stand for many years.
In addition to his parents and wife, Edward is preceded in death by his brother, Richard (Sebila) Funk.
A celebration of Edward’s life will take place on Thursday, September 11, 2014, 11:00am at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory, 4600 County Line Road. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 10, 2104, from 5:00pm until 8:00pm, and again on Thursday, from 10:00am until the time of the service. Burial will follow services on Thursday at Holy Cross Cemetery on Kinzie Avenue. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorials to your favorite charity.
