Florence Bernice Burke

Aug 1, 1920 – Apr 11, 2016

Racine – Florence Bernice Burke, age 95, passed away peacefully at Pathways Assisted Living in Goodyear, AZ on Monday, April 11, 2016.

Florence was born on August 1, 1920, daughter of the late Walter and Mary (nee: Bartoszewicz) Gill, and was a lifelong resident of Racine. She worked in the experimental department at In-Sink-Erator, retiring after 32 years of service.

Florence was a longtime member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church until it’s closing, and then joined Our Lady of the Mount Carmel Church in Kenosha – where she was a member of the choir.

Surviving is her nephew, Barry (Kay) Ford of Surprise, AZ. In addition to her husband, Carl, she was preceded in death by her twin sister, Dorothy Mae Poker; sister, Joan B. Ford and brother, Harold W. Gill.

A Rite of Committal Service will be held on Monday, April 18, 2016 at 1:30 pm at the chapel of Holy Cross Cemetery – Highway 32 (5600 Holy Cross Road) with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating. Interment will follow next to Florence’s beloved husband, Carl.
