Dorothy Ann Regnery

Nov 4, 1932 – Dec 26, 2014

Dorothy Ann Regnery, 82, passed away in St. Catherine’s Hospital, on Friday, December 26, 2014. She was born in Peshtigo, WI on November 4, 1932 the daughter of the late John and Helen (nee: Kopsie) Oravetz. Dorothy was educated in the Racine school system. On January 27, 1962, in St. Rita’s Catholic Church, Racine, she was united in marriage to Donald J. Regnery who preceded her in death on August 15, 1990. Dorothy had been employed by Service Master, Linstrom’s Bakery, and Christiano’s. Dorothy was a member of the Kenosha Senior Center where she enjoyed ceramic classes. She also enjoyed craft activities, rummage sales and shopping and going to restaurants. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with family and friends. Dorothy enjoyed any type of outing whether it was an outing with Parkside Manor, taking the van to the Senior Center or going out with family and friends. She loved feeling the warmth of the sun and the breeze of the wind on her face. She was lively, enthusiastic and had a great sense of humor. Dorothy will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her. Surviving are her son, Scott (Sara) Regnery, of Kenosha; daughter, Lisa (Todd) Roedema, of Burlington, WI; granddaughters, Jessica and Ashley Roedema, grandson, Christopher (Jomelyn) Roedema; great-grandsons, Jordan and Daniel; brother, James (Sue) Oravetz, Mountain Home, AK and special cousin and dear friend, Lois Palm, of Racine. Her nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive her. In addition to her parents and beloved husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, Carl (Ruth) Oravetz. The family would like to thank the staff at Parkside Manor, Senior Lifestyle Community where Dorothy resided for the past two years. The delicious meals, many activities and caring staff made her life meaningful during her last years. So many evenings she would tell us, “I had a wonderful day today”. To the world you may be one person, but to one person, you may be the world. The family would like to thank Dr. B. Pulla for the many years of exceptional healthcare and for your compassion and kindness toward Dorothy. Her funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, December 30th, at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Daryl Merrill officiating. Visitation will in the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park.

Testimonials

Betty Tulley and the family of Bob Hanson

I just wanted to say thank you for your wonderful attention to every detail you provided our family for my dad’s service. We were touched by the jazz music playing softly in the background. It was a fitting service for my dear Dad.
