Jim L. Schreiber

Dec 27, 1954 – Apr 8, 2025

Service Details

A celebration of Jim’s life will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at 8301 Fox Haven Chase, Sturtevant, WI 53177. All who knew and loved Jim are welcome to share in remembering his incredible life.

Jim L. Schreiber, age 70, of Racine, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2025. He was born on December 27, 1954, in Burlington, WI, to Phyllis L. Larson (nee: Rognsvoog) and Harold I. Schreiber.

Jim graduated from J.I. Case High School. He won awards for his ceramics and was an excellent gymnast, specifically on the rings and high bar. He married his high school sweetheart, Donna L. Buska (Woodward – Schreiber) and had two beautiful daughters. He was a man of many talents and hobbies—a skilled butcher at L & M Meats, a reliable mechanic and restorer of cars, his prize vehicle was his Roadrunner. He had an eye for “just like brand new” things which made him a collector of many, many things. Jim was a jokester who brought laughter to those around him. He loved to fish and shoot guns.  He was a devoted father, an extremely proud grandpa and a great man who touched the lives of many.

He is survived by his loving daughters, Melissa R. (Michael J., Sr.) Larson and Megan L. Schreiber; grandchildren, Michael J. Larson, Jr., Mallory R. Larson, Daniel L. Winter, Jr. and Daxton L. Winter; siblings Scott (Evelyn) Schreiber, Lee Ann (Shawn) Pautz, Kay (Rollie) Stewart, Steven (Kristal) Schreiber, Lori (Ted) Janke and Kenneth (Barb) Schreiber; Uncle Larry (Julie) Rognsvoog; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and best friend, Rick Slafter. Jim was preceded in death by his father, Harold I. Schreiber; mother, Phyllis L. Larson; his dad Bervin “Lars” Larson; brothers, Bruce A. Schreiber and Scott L. Larson.

His daughters send their heartfelt appreciation to his Aurora Doctors and Nurses.

    To Mellisa and Megan,
My heart is with the both of you and your families. I am so sorry for your loss.
I only met your dad on a few occasions but it was clear he was a very genuine person. He loved his grandchildren and was absolutely proud of all of you!
It doesn’t always seem fair, but god knows exactly what he is doing and knows what is best for each one of us.
Your dad will be greatly missed, but I pray you find comfort in knowing he is in the best hands.
There is no greater gift than to be in gods kingdom.

    With all my love,

    Carrie Braun & Family

Testimonials

May 24, 2018

Our family wants to thank Mike and the staff of Draeger-Langendorf for their compassion and caring in the death of our mother. They attended to every detail with such professionalism and made this difficult time so much easier by unburdening us of all that needs to be done with the arrangements. We all felt that there was nothing more they could have been done. It was perfect. We can now go forward with the memories that we hold in our hearts of mom and know that we provided the best possible service by choosing Draeger-Langendorf.
