Gloria Prochska

Oct 23, 1924 – Dec 25, 2013

~~Gloria Prochaska, 89, passed away on Christmas day at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Racine on October 23, 1924, the daughter of the late James and Constance  (nee Zaccaroli) Patriarca.  As a life-long resident, she graduated from Washington Park High School.  While employed by Massey Ferguson, she met Michael Prochaska, whom she married on March 7th, 1947.
She and Michael were partners for over 43 years in the business of Michael’s Signs Inc.  During her lifetime she was also employed by Gorton Machine and UW Parkside.
Gloria was a member of the First Baptist Church and Raymond Community Church, UCC.  She was active in Vittoria Colonna (Roma Lodge) and a former member of the Racine Chorale, Racine Symphonic Chorus, and Girl Scouts of America.
She is survived by her children: Thomas (Bonnie) Prochaska of Racine, Connie (Don) Johnson, of Rice Lake, Carol Prochaska (Don Davidson) of Madison, and Stephen (Vikki) Prochaska of Racine; grandchildren, Matthew (Maggie) Prochaska, Joshua (Laura) Johnson, Elizabeth (Mike) Casebolt, Adam Johnson, Michael Prochaska, Kristina Prochaska, Alisa Prochaska, and Stephen Saloutos; two great-grandchildren, Thatcher Casebolt and Finley Prochaska; twin sister, Joy (Harold) Hughes, of San Francisco, CA; brother, Frank (Pat) Patriarca, of Racine.
Gloria was preceded in death by her husband Michael and her parents.
A celebration of life will be held at the Draeger-Langendorf funeral home on Saturday, December 28th at 11:00 A.M.  A Vittoria Colonna service will precede the memorial at which Rev. Manda Stack will be officiating.  The family has suggested memorials to the Raymond Community Church, or the Racine Symphony Orchestra.
