Chicago(formally of Racine) ~ Minister Janell Hutcherson was born January 18, 1965 to Sylvester and Emma (nee:Cannon) Hutcherson in Racine, Wisconsin. She received Jesus as her Savior and was filled with the Holy Spirit while a member of Shiloh Stronghold Church of God in Christ. She graduated from Washington Park High School in 1983. Over the years, Janell resided in Wisconsin, Minnesota, California, Canada, and Illinois. In 2005, Loyola University Chicago, Illinois, School of Education employed Janell in the role of Program Coordinator. In 2010, she was awarded a Masters of Arts from Loyola University School of Social Work. In her work place, Janell was known as a person who kept her word. If she said that she would meet a deadline, you could expect it to be completed with excellence. She was also one to encourage and counsel others in the Word of God. Janell was known for her bright smile, her infectious laughter, warm embrace, and her sang-song greeting, “How are you? Janell loved children, possessed natural “mothering” instincts and had a gift to inspire others. She was a Nanny for several years and formed a special relationship with the Eastman family. This relationship allowed them to serve the Kingdom of God knowing that their children were safe in Janell's care.
During a 2011 Night of Hope event in Chicago, each minister was asked to offer prayer for the event. When Dr. Bill Winston prayed, Janell felt the power of God and was convinced that that the Pastor believed what he spoke and was compelled to visit Living Word Christian Center in Forest Park, Illinois. Janell's plan was to sit in the back and just listen and not get involved. She was led by the Holy Spirit during mid-week Bible study to respond to the Altar call and become a faithful member of Living Word Christian Center. Janell served in the Children’s Ministry and Follow-up Care and enrolled at Living Word’s School of Ministry in September 2012. During her matriculation in the School of Ministry, Janell’s persistent faith was rewarded with her graduation from the School of Ministry in June 2013, and subsequent appointment to Pastoral
Care as an Altar Minister in November 2013. Janell joined Faith Ministries Alliance (FMA); laboring in the Word of God. At the September 2014 International Faith Conference, Minister Janell received Licensing to preach the Gospel, perform marriages, administer communion, and direct the other functions of the Ministry. She was especially proud to have received her charge from FMA founder and her Pastor, Dr. William S. Winston. Janell was a hearer and a doer of the Word of God. She loved to study God’s Word and to encourage and intercede in prayer on behalf of herself and others. To her family, Minister Janell was a caregiver, a source of spiritual and daily support, encouraging towards the things of God, and covering them daily in prayer.
Minister Janell Hutcherson was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents; father, Sylvester Hutcherson and sister, Valerie Gillard.
