Johnnie Lucille Bell

Oct 28, 1937 – Mar 28, 2015

~~Johnnie Kirksey-Bell passionately known as “Monet” made her transition on Saturday March 28, 2015 at the age of 77 at Aurora St. Luke’s Hospital.   Johnnie was born in Atlanta, GA on October 28, 1937 to the union of the late Coty and Maydell Kirksey.   She received her early education in Atlanta.

Johnnie was employed with Racine County as a Bailiff.  She was a loving lady who enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.  Johnnie enjoyed the simplicity of life and sharing God’s love with everyone.  Additionally, Johnnie enjoyed reading, traveling, and playing cards. Watching the Family Feud and Wheel of Fortune; and sharing words of wisdom with the younger generation were also enjoyed by Johnnie. Her acts of kindness and love for others in the community were shown through community volunteerism at the Salvation Army, Love and Charity Mission, and Club Unity.  She was also a loyal cook for the Sixth Street Neighborhood Annual Reunion/cookout for 12 years. 

Johnnie leaves to cherish her precious memories children:  Vickie Green of Racine, Ronald Bell and Juan Morgan of Atlanta, GA., Reggie Bell, Teresa (Ronnie) McMorris of Racine, Melisa Bell-Churchwell of Atlanta, GA., and Crystal Taylor of Jackson, TN.

Johnnie is further survived by siblings; Barbara McWhorter, of Racine, Jenell Hall and Sarah (Robert) Walker of Atlanta, GA., Jerome Kirksey of Racine, Bernice Warner of Texas, and Venery Morgan of Atlanta, GA. She is also survived by her loving and dear friend Donald Bostick, 22 grandchildren, 30 great-grand children and 3 great-great grand children. 

Johnnie was preceded by her son, Rinaldo Bell; sisters, Lendora McClendon and Mary Judon, Brother, John Kirksey; grandsons, Tramaine Nigel Knox, Jalon Bell. Grand-daughter Anya Kitt, and great-grandson J’Keem Heziekah.

A celebration of her life was held on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at St.Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Racine, WI
