Kenneth Emerson

Aug 22, 1935 – May 22, 2010

Kenneth Emerson, 74, passed away, at his residence, on Saturday, May 22, 2010 after a short but cruel battle with cancer with his wife, Jen, at his side. Ken was born in Beloit, WI on Aug. 22, 1935 the son of the late Bradford and Alma (nee: Steiner) Emerson. On June 27, 1959, here in Racine, he was united in marriage to the former Jeanette “Jen” Wilson. Ken had been employed by S.C. Johnson and Son. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and skiing. Surviving are his wife Jen; their son and daughter-in-law, Ben and Pam Emerson; grandsons, Brady and Brandon Emerson, all of Appleton; and his dog Maggie. Other relatives and friends further survive him. Family and friends are invited to meet at the chapel of West Lawn Memorial Park at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 26th. In Lieu of flowers the family has suggested memorials to Hospice Alliance. Jen would like to thank Pearl Czechowicz, Teri and Rusty Birkholz and Hospice Alliance for their gentle and compassionate care over the past several weeks.

I was very sorry to hear about Kenny’s passing. I had no idea he was so sick. Unfortunately, I was visiting my parents in Minneapolis and didn’t hear about his passing until Wednesday evening. I wish I could have attended his memorial to say goodbye and meet the family he always talked so lovingly about. I first met Kenny in 1984 when I started at SCJ. He was always the one I would go to when I needed help on my projects. There was one project we worked on that I could not have completed without him – crimping a pump on a plastic bottle. It was quite a feat and we was very instrumental on getting the equipment set-up. Outside of work he would occasionaly come and watch me play softball on Wednesday and even took me to the hospital when I hyper extended my leg. When my throwing was off, he would play catch with me in a field across from SCJ. I considered him a mentor, coach, confident, savior and a father figure – but most importantly he was a very good friend. I will miss him.

Testimonials

The Brehm and Kapellusch Families

My family and I would like to thank you and your staff for making our father’s funeral a beautiful celebration of his life. So many people commented that it was the best funeral they had ever attended! We can’t say enough about Mark Langendorf’s professionalism, his attention to detail, and ensuring that my father’s funeral went smoothly from start to finish. After the funeral, he was always available for any questions and concerns my mother had. He handled all post-funeral details. Our dad would be very happy to know it went so well.Thank you so much, Mark.
