Memorials to Fellowship Baptist Church has been suggested.

Racine – Larry Donald Perkins, age 74, passed away peacefully at home on Monday afternoon, September 18, 2017. 

Larry was born in Rochelle, Illinois on November 23, 1942. He received associate degrees in Science and General Education, then went on to earn his Masters of Education, all from Idaho State University. Larry faithfully served our country for over 22 years with the Army, Air Force, Army National Guard and Coast Guard – having been decorated with Air Force and Army commendation medals & two Army achievement medals. He was a retired math teacher from the Wisconsin Department of Corrections. In retirement, he served as a substitute teacher with Racine Unified School District. 

On June 30, 2001 Larry was united in marriage with Nena Menchavez (nee: Romo). He was a proud member of Fellowship Baptist Church, a 32nd Degree Mason and was an avid ham radio operator. 

Surviving are his loving wife, Nena Menchavez Romo-Perkins; son, David (Jody) Perkins; daughter, Jessica (Dennis) Carter; grandchildren, Jonathan and Christina Perkins; Cozette, Hailey and Keith Teiberis; sister, Joyce (Sherwood) Arbogast; other relatives and friends. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene Davis Perkins and Bernice Hilda (nee: Pfeiffer) Gehant. 

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 22, 2017 at 11:00 am at Fellowship Baptist Church, 5607 Wright Avenue, with Pastor David Sincock officiating. Military honors and a luncheon will follow. Visitation will be in the church on Friday from 10-11 am. Private burial will take place in Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Fellowship Baptist Church has been suggested.
