
RACINE – Violet Conley, 80, affectionately loved and known as “Bobbie and Granny”, departed this life on October 15, 2013 at Froedtert Memorial Hospital in Milwaukee.
She was born in Florence, AL on August 16, 1933 to the late Webster and Vina Chandler. She moved to Racine as an adult. Violet began her walk with Christ at Greater Grace Temple COGIC under the leadership of Elder Jettie Cornett where she served on the Mother’s Board and other various committees. At the time of her passing she was a member of Christian Faith Fellowship Church of Racine under the leadership of pastors Willie and Patricia Scott.
Violet enjoyed spending time with her family, going to basketball games, watching the Green Bay Packers and trying to teach all her grandchildren her famous macaroni & cheese and dressing recipes.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories, her daughter, Dr. Sarah (Alvin, Jr.) Fouse of Racine; her stray daughter, Joyce (Jerry) Wadlington of Racine; her grandchildren, Anthony Fouse and Alvin Fouse III, Alicia (Stanley, Sr.) McKenzie; great grandchildren, Tashonda Golden, Felix (Tarita) McKenzie, Stanley (Mary) McKenzie, Jr., Jordan, Alvin, Trentin and Devonte Fouse; great-great grandchildren, Dennis Brownlee, Makayla McAllister, Felix McKenzie , Jr.; two dear people she treated like her grandchildren, Jalen Wadlington and Latrece McMorris; as well as many other dear family members and friends.
Family and friends are invited to meet at Greater Grace Temple (522 N. Memorial Dr.) on Friday, October 25, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. for the celebration of her life and Home Going with Pastor Willie Scott officiating. There will be a visitation in the church from 9-11 a.m. Her interment will take place at Graceland Cemetery.
Violet’s family would like to thank Dr. Badi and the entire staff in the ICU at Froedtert for the loving and professional attention that was provided while under their care.
